49th St. Gallen Symposium "Capital for Purpose": 8–10 May 2019

EDIT HEADER

About

We create debates since 1969.

The St. Gallen Symposium is the world's leading initiative for intergenerational debates on economic, political, and social developments. The symposium takes place annually in May at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

We bring together key decision makers, thought leaders, and brilliant young minds to address current challenges and opportunities on transforming ideas in to action. We have fostered healthy debates and created an outstanding community for exchange since 1969 to provide fresh insights into important topics of our time.

As a student-run initiative combining excellence with innovation we create a unique and extraordinary experience. We believe in and promote a liberal paradigm.

The International Students' Committee. More than just a team.

The St. Gallen Symposium is organised on an honorary basis by a team of roughly 35 students from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. This team constitutes the International Students' Committee (ISC) and changes with every annual edition of the St. Gallen Symposium. The current year's Head of the Organising Committee is recruited from the previous year's team.

As well as designing and planning the symposium, the student team is especially involved with the development of the conceptual framework and content of the "3 days in May". It decides on the key themes and fosters contacts with the Circle of Benefactors, selected speakers and key figures as a whole. It also maintains links with media representatives and leading universities around the world.
